United States - Remote

100% Remote Geotechnical Design Engineer (PE)

U.S. Based | Fully Remote

If you’re a Geotechnical Engineer who wants the flexibility of remote work without losing exposure to complex, high-impact projects, this role gives you both.

You’ll be working on a wide range of design-build and remediation projects across the U.S., taking ownership of engineering solutions that directly influence how projects are built, stabilized, and improved.

This is a role for someone who’s technically strong, self-driven, and ready to lead projects without being tied to a traditional office environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage geotechnical projects from concept through construction.
  • Design systems including ground improvement, deep foundations, earth retention, and structural underpinning.
  • Perform site evaluations, engineering calculations, and technical analysis to support design decisions.
  • Develop construction documents, specifications, and reports.
  • Collaborate with contractors, clients, and consultants across multiple projects.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Support ongoing projects with occasional site visits, inspections, and reporting.
  • Contribute to business development and maintain strong client relationships.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation systems, and geotechnical design.
  • Experience with design-build projects and tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Slide2, Slope/W, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a remote work environment.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Fully remote flexibility – work from anywhere in the U.S. (must be authorized to work in the US)
  • Technical ownership – lead projects, not just support them.
  • Project variety – design-build and remediation work across multiple industries.
  • Collaborative, agile team environment without corporate bureaucracy.
  • Work on projects that directly impact construction, infrastructure, and structural performance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100K – $175k base salary (depending on experience).
  • Opportunity for performance-based compensation growth.
  • Company-provided laptop, monitors, and equipment.
  • Field gear and PPE provided for site work.
  • Home office support (internet, phone reimbursement options).
  • Flexible schedule designed for work-life balance.

This is the kind of role where you can work remotely, stay technical, and still have real influence on how projects are designed and executed without being boxed into a traditional office structure.
