In-house role with real impact. No biz-dev. No billable-hour quotas.

Join a privately held real estate developer in Eastern MA and work exclusively on the owner’s projects—from site grading and utilities to stormwater systems—without the churn of external clients.

What you’ll do

  • Own civil/site design packages: grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, utilities, roadways, and supporting specs.
  • Draft, revise, and shepherd plans through local/state permitting with the Senior PE and Division Director.
  • Build clear reports, exhibits, and presentations; keep rock-solid documentation and meeting notes.
  • Balance multiple projects at once—independently and within a tight, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Head to local project sites to perform soil testing/evaluations and gather data for design refinements.
  • Update drawings for as-builts and design changes; coordinate with survey and field techs as needed.

What you bring

  • BS in Civil Engineering (accredited).
  • EIT certification (or FE passed if near graduation) and MA Soil Evaluator License.
  • 4+ years designing site improvements (commercial, municipal, healthcare, higher-ed—mix welcome).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Civil Suite; strong MS Office skills.
  • Confident communicator with good judgment and a knack for clean, constructible plans.
  • PE license is a plus (and you’re motivated to obtain it as soon as eligible).

Why this role stands out

  • In-house focus: Work on projects the company owns and develops—no client billing drama, no sales targets.
  • Design + delivery: See your work move from sketches to grading stakes to finished neighborhoods.
  • True variety: Single-family developments with full scope—grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater.
  • Career runway: Direct exposure to the Senior PE/Division Director with real mentorship and growth.
  • Balanced workload: Project manage, design, visit sites—stay technical while leveling up operationally.

Work setup

  • Eastern Massachusetts HQ (Hanover, MA) with flexibility: in-office, remote, or hybrid when not in the field.
  • Local travel to project sites for soil testing and evaluations.

Compensation & benefits

  • $100,000 – $150,000 base salary, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, salaried position with stable pipeline and owner-side continuity.
  • Modern tools and project management software (Procore or similar is a plus).
