Our client is seeking a Department Lead for their Building Envelope and Roof Engineering Division. Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Leadership: As the Department Lead, you’ll oversee the growth and management of the roofing and building envelope division. Your leadership will be critical to ensuring the team delivers high-quality roofing solutions, from initial assessments to final installation.
  • Roofing & Building Envelope Expertise: Lead the team in performing property condition assessments, with a specific focus on roofing systems and building envelope assemblies. You’ll diagnose and recommend solutions for issues such as water intrusion, corrosion, and structural deficiencies in roof systems.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their roofing needs are met and exceeded. You’ll work closely with clients to provide customized roofing solutions and handle any remediation needs.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and train your team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on roofing expertise. You’ll be responsible for developing junior staff and helping them grow in their roofing knowledge and technical skills.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Roofing Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in roofing design, assessment, and remediation. You’ll have a deep understanding of roof systems, materials, and troubleshooting techniques, as well as expertise in diagnosing and mitigating water intrusion and other roofing deficiencies.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, handle large-scale roofing projects, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams. Your leadership will be key in driving the growth and success of the division.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in roof structure evaluation, property condition assessments, water penetration testing, and forensic evaluation. Experience with infrared or nuclear moisture surveys is a plus.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications such as RRO (Registered Roof Observer) or RRC (Roofing Consultant) are highly desirable. If not already licensed, the ability to obtain licensure within 2 years is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Proficiency in CAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software is required.
