More Than Just Engineering: A Leadership Role
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll be a key driver of our growth, responsible for:
- Project Leadership: Manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of geotechnical projects, from inception to completion. This includes scope development, budget management, and ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert analysis, calculations, and recommendations on soils-related issues, ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our clients’ projects.
- Report Writing and Proposal Development: Prepare and review high-quality, client-ready reports and proposals that showcase your technical skills and professionalism.
- Team Mentorship: Guide and develop junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Business Development: Actively cultivate and maintain client relationships, proactively seeking out new business opportunities and expanding our market reach. You will be instrumental in identifying new market areas, evaluating their potential, and ensuring profitability.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to proactively identify and troubleshoot soils-related issues on complex projects.
Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional who can demonstrate:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with a Professional Engineer (PE) license—a must. A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical exploration, construction observation, and testing in the Virginia area.
- Proven business development skills, with a demonstrable track record of success in acquiring new clients and maintaining existing relationships.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective collaboration with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
