Are you a young and ambitious geotechnical engineer ready to take the next step in your career? Our client is offering an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer with a local leading engineering firm based in San Francisco, CA.

Why This Role?

This position offers a dynamic blend of fieldwork and office-based tasks, with an approximate 90:10 split. You’ll be part of a talented technical team, working closely with Senior Engineers on cutting-edge geotechnical projects that span a diverse range of industries and clients, including high-profile federal and regional organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers on geotechnical calculations for critical factors like liquefaction, slope stability, and seismic analysis using advanced software tools such as Slide, LPile, AllPile, and CLIQ.
  • Contribute to the preparation of geotechnical study reports, proposals, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Review construction documents and provide insights on plans and specifications.
  • Engage in field sampling and construction observation, gaining hands-on experience on various job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, government regulators, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

What They’re Looking For:

  • 3-4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a solid understanding of soil mechanics, foundations, seismic design, and slope stability.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MS or PhD is a preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate, with a commitment to achieving a Professional Engineer license.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in both office and field settings.
  • A US Driver’s License and legal authorization to work in the US.
